090924 United Airlines First International Lounge, Narita

While waiting for my flight UA803 departing at 1750 for Singapore, here are some interesting observations made at this Narita' lounge.

Using free wifi here poses certain difficulty in terms of language. Here is a screen capture of the web page. As you can see, everything is in Japanese. I know, it can be changed to other language, why the hassle. At times, you don't need to know the language, some how, the intuition will tell you how.

Foods found here seem to center more on intoxicating liquors. The knife provided is made of plastic.

Another question, does it really make much difference to travel in first class?

The crowd at this lounge is quite sizable. The corollary is that the Airlines are never short of travellers willing to splash out their moolah.

090908 Journey from Seattle to New York

My flight from Seattle to New York was cancelled due to visibility problem - caused by fog.

However, UA managed to secure seat for me on Flight 9812 ( Seattle to San Francisco ) & 10 ( San Francisco to New York).

The departure gate at Seattle was N11.

Flight UA 9812.

Despite the fact that it is a first class flight, don't expect meal to be served on board. Only soft drinks. So you don't see food photos posted for this sector.

Stay away from intoxicating stuffs, safer to stay on juice.

Mixed nuts - I think UA microwaves it

Smoked salmon roll on a bed of marinated cucumbers +

Greenswith cherry tomatoes, garbanzo beans ( kacang kuda ) and chopped pecans

dressing: Balsamic Vinaigrette

Stir-fried shrimps, egg fried rice, California stir-fried vegetables

( very very salty )

Chocolate and grand vanilla ice cream with sundae toppings

Warm chocolate chip cookies

strange , why warm ?
