China Town, Toronto 0916

Chinatown in Toronto is full of eateries. It can be quite a loss as what to choose from the vast varieties of foods offered here. So, we choose the one with lot of patrons.

This eatery is our choice.

I have roast duck rice.

We even order extra plate of roast duck leg to supplement our meals.

Prawn dumplings in soup.

They don't serve the kind of chilli found in Malaysia, they only have chilli oil.

Mooncakes imported from Hong Kong.

My ancestor lived in Swatow so it is appropriate to capture a picture of this restaurant.
There is even a write-up in newspaper about this place.

For your reference only.

Canadian Visa - Continued

This posting is to allay the fear raised in my previous posting about whether you should apply single or multiple entry Canadian ViSA.

On Sept 5, I went on shore of Victoria, British Colombia. The VISA in the passport was crossed with black lines. The immigration stamp only showed date of entry.

Again, on Sept 15, I crossed the US/Canada border to Niagara Falls by bus. The immigration clearance was a breeze. The important point to note here is that the I-94 must be still married with the passport.

Meals Orchestrated by "Tourist Director", Canada

The following four meals were recommended by the enterprising "Tourist Director" for my 5-day guided tour to Canada. All these meals would ring up US$90.

First Meal - Lunch at Skylon Tower, Niagara Falls, Canada

Second Meal - Breakfast on Board - 1000 Islands Cruise on St. Lawrence River

"Alms for the poors, " sighed the tourists.
This is the kind of service you will get on board the boat.

Third Meal - Lunch at Restaurant Le Relais, Quebec

Forth Meal - Lobster Dinner at Jin Asian Cuisine, Boston

I shall not deliberate too much on the foods. The readers shall have the final say.

090916 CN Tower, Toronto

As far as I am concerned, it is my first experience standing on a glass flour which is 1,122 ft above the ground.

This Chinese woman is diplaying her courage by sprawling on the glass floor.

After much cajoling, I undertake the much intimidating task of standing on the glass floor. The feeling is exhilarating just before you overcome the acrophobia. My feet are literally suspended above the Rogers Centre.

A close-up look from below. The bright area is the glass floor. Apparently, the whole floor is made of glass but only certain section is exposed for the visitors to experience the "free fall" sensation.

An experience that you must not miss even though you might reluctant to plunck down your money for the 21 canadian dollar entrance ticket.

Canadian VISA - Sample

Got my Canadian VISA without any fuss. Submitted at around 0840 and got it around 1530.
The security is tight. Don't bring along gun and weapon of mass destruction, let alone hand phones.
The office hour starts from 8.30 , it differs from the time anounced at its website ( 8.00 ). So, don't go at 8.00, besides, there are no chairs provided. If you have a back problem like mine, then I would advice you to sit by the road side or bring your own chairs.

To get access to Canadian VISA office, I suggest taking the LRT to the Ampang Park Station, from here, take a healthy walk for a distance of 0.7km.

The myth about the Single Entry is clear. Not need to paraphrase the FAQ. Surprisingly, photo submitted is not shown on the VISA like the one adopted by US. Wonder where it will show up.
