090825 (2) Narita to Seattle

United First International Lounge - it serves many star alliance partners.
Again, the class discrimination is applied , if you are not first class traveller, you are only allowed to use the 3rd floor lounge which serve basic food. Nevertheless, they have a very nice shower room which I had tried many years ago.

Being a first class traveller, you are invited to yon-kai ( 4th floor ) where the lounge is located. You can immediately smell the air of exclusivity.

Up to now, my immediate need is to relieve my tiredness and the solution is to treat myself with a good shower. Not to let anybody to discount this lounge, they do provide private shower room. Be careful, it is one-way lock, if you come out in your buff then I can't figure another way to go in except to solicit the help from the demure "geisha-like" concierge.

The shower room is very basic but like the Chinese cliche, a sparrow may be small, but it is a fully functional biological plant.

This modern W.C. is meant for foreigner. I think by and large, Japanese prefers squatting w.c.

The shower is operated from the opposite wall.

The standing fan is fully metalic. Will it induce electrocution when one is out from shower and wet?

The toiletries found inside this bag is mind-boggling in terms of use. I can't figure out how to use the rest except the hair and body shampoo. This bag puts the shower room of SIA private room to shame.

If you are curious, these are the items found inside the bag.
  • Shaver with cream.
  • Toothbrush with short handle.
  • Spa hydrating body buffer
  • spa marine collgen conditioner
  • spa sea salt body wash
  • spa sea marine revitalizing shampoo
  • spa milk multi-vitamin cream soap
  • Tooth paste ( in Japanese language - can't translate)
  • green tea eau de toilette

my favourite drink - tomato juice , does it go well with cold soba ?

Interior view of the Lounge - very sparsely populated -

Chunky sushi - very hot item - but it is not replenished regularly, must play hide and seek game

Hors d'œuvre - bacon .....
Edamame

Cold Soba, mixed fruits, raw mushrooms, cheese, - Wait a second, they have not replenished the sushi

Wine and liquor - I have to stay away from this -I don't want to land myself TKO

More wines - Nice coffee machine -

Mixed nuts and crackers - to be flushed down with Bloody Mary

Sweet rice cake packed inside individual plastic box

Japanese symbol ?
Just another view of the lounge

Intoxicating Drinks

Manage to salvage two sushi from the bar - in fact ,3, I have consumed one before I decided to capture it on my camera

Japanese style - dim sum - 3 taken - 1 already inside my stomach

Boarding pass for flight to Seattle - issued by this special lounge

UA 876- 9 hours flying time - depending on tail wind

Jet Bridge - Discrimination again - seperate entrances into the aircraft - Business Class still at par with economy passenger

My seat No. 2A - United First Suite -

Only 12 first class seats available on this flight

This appetizers -Escargot bourguignonne in brioche and vermouth poached scallop and shitake mushroom with pine nut, basil cream sauce

Close-up view of escargot - one piece only

Soup - Mediterranean vegetable soup

Salt an pepper in tiny container

Salad - A combination of mesclun mix and romaine with sliced Japanese cucumber, red bell pepper and crisp routons, served with Shiso Vinaigrette

My main course - Washoku Zen Selection

Appetizers of salmon sushi with fish eggs
rosted lime-flavoured beef with miso, quick-blanched tuna,
broiled salmon, sansho-flavoured sweet smelt,seaweed-flavoured flounder and somen noodles topped with sweet egg.

The main course consists of barbecued eel kabayaki, shrimp and scallop flavoured with sake and seaweed, marinated broiled sea bass, steamed tofu and assorted vegetables served with steamed rice and Japanese pickled vegetables

Baskin Robbins ice cream with sundae toppings

Breakfast - Spanish-style eggs with ham, mushroom and cheese- can't finish the foods - Now I develop aversion to foods

Outside Seattle International Airport, waiting for my sister to come. The weather is 66 deg F. My lips start to crack ....
