A Lesson in Botany - Ginkgo Biloba

It is a very strange plant as it can be either male or female per se. The more appropriate botanical description is dioecious.
We came across these trees in front of a hospital near Elmhurt, Queens. The security guard was curious when we tried to take a closer look at the trees.

"Could you tell me the name of this plant?" he asked.
"Sir, you have a hidden treasure right in front of you eyes." I said.
"They were people who climbed to the roof top to pluck the fruits. I am curious."
"Oh, the fruits worth its weight in gold."
and the conversation went on an on.

As you can see, there are two ovules formed at the end of the stalk which eventually ended up as a seed. The outer layer is very smelly so the locals always stay away from it.

Bark of the trees.
Is this the male plant ?
OR this one ?
